We have a good understanding of how trees grow and ultimately die, but the process of their birth remains largely a mystery. At the Forest Biology Center, our goal is to bridge this gap in knowledge. Our research covers a wide range of topics, such as:
- the ecology and physiology of seed production in perennial plants
- the evolutionary factors that drive seed production patterns
- the determinants of tree recruitment
- the impact of climate change on seed production and related processes
- the effects of mast seeding on food webs
Our work is supported by various funding agencies, including the European Research Council and the (Polish) National Science Center.
